magicJack for BUSINESS Overview

magicJack’s products are designed for home use to replace standard landline telephone service, while magicJack for BUSINESS is a VoIP solution designed for small and medium businesses who need 1-20 phone lines. Our business customers range from freelancers and entrepreneurs in home offices to small and medium teams in shared offices, to contractors in coworking spaces, or teams working remotely.

Currently we only service businesses with a United States shipping address.

magicJack for BUSINESS™ allows you to make local and long-distance calls across the U.S. (including Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands) and Canada. Calls to 900 numbers, phone chat services, traffic pumping services, and some U.S. territories are excluded. Limited in some areas such as Alaska. No, unlike other products, magicJack for BUSINESS does not connect to your computer. This saves you from the hassle of installing software on your computer and from having to leave your computer turned on to make and receive calls.

Our customers are usually surprised to find out that magicJack for BUSINESS requires NO ANNUAL CONTRACT for our cloud-based business VoIP system. We think it makes great business sense, particularly for our customers who are making the switch from a traditional phone service where lengthy and expensive contracts are required. Requirements

The same way you would with an ordinary telephone. The only difference is that an IP phone is plugged into an Ethernet connection instead of a phone jack because the call is made digitally over the internet.

All you need is a high-speed Internet connection (cable, DSL, satellite or fiber-optic) and a magicJack for BUSINESS provisioned IP phone. The phone is a one-time cost when you sign up for service. Phones purchased from third parties are not compatible at this time.

Starting your service with magicJack for BUSINESS is easy, but it does require high-speed internet access, router, modem and compatible phone. To learn more about getting started, contact one of our representatives who will be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Getting Started – Porting Your Number

Phone number porting is an option that allows you to transfer your existing phone number from your old phone company to magicJack for BUSINESS. By taking advantage of the number porting option you can save yourself the time and hassle of having to update all of your customers and marketing materials with a new number. voip-desk-ip-phone-corded-soft-focus.jpg

When you sign up for magicJack for BUSINESS, you have the option of porting or transferring your existing number, or we will give you a new number in any available U.S. area code (excluding Alaska).

Existing magicJack customers: we can transfer your magicJack GO number to magicJack for BUSINESS.

If you have a phone number with another carrier, in most cases we can port your number, which can take up to several weeks to complete, depending on your carrier. Porting service is available for a one-time charge of $19.99.

Porting requirements vary by carrier. Number porting is supported in most calling areas. Please contact us at 888-652-4976 or email mjbizsales@magicjack.com to determine whether your number is portable.

  • The phone number you want to port

  • Account information for your current provider (name of provider, account number, passcode, authorized account holder, and address)

Upon port completion, we will notify you via email.

The porting process will typically take 5-7 business days assuming all provided information is correct. Some providers take longer than others to complete, but rest assured that we will be on top of your request.

Account Settings

Caller ID display depends on the carrier of the person you’re calling. magicJack for BUSINESS sets up your caller ID with your name or business name exactly how you want it, but some carriers don’t display the information that is available.

Yes, magicJack for BUSINESS provides E911 service. We collect your address when you purchase your magicJack service and send it to emergency response personnel when you dial E911. Please see additional information concerning our E911 service and limitations here.
